My internet connection is weak
If you see a warning in Lessonspace that says “Weak connection detected”, this means your internet connection may not be strong enough to support the lesson smoothly. It is signalled by this icon:
Try the following steps to improve your connection:
Check your internet connection
Make sure you are connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. If possible, move closer to your router or use a wired (Ethernet) connection.
You can also run an online speed test to check whether your connection is strong enough for video calls.
Close unnecessary apps and tabs
Having multiple browser tabs, downloads or applications open can reduce your available bandwidth. Close anything you are not using, then refresh the page and rejoin the lesson.
Restart your router (if necessary)
If the issue continues, restarting your router can sometimes improve connection stability. Be aware that this will temporarily disconnect you from the lesson, so you may need to pause the session and inform your student before doing so.
Reduce video usage (temporary measure)
If your connection remains unstable, you may temporarily turn off your camera to help stabilise the session. As our lessons are expected to be delivered with cameras on, this should only be used as a short-term measure while resolving the issue.
After making any changes, refresh the page and rejoin the Space.
If the warning continues to appear, you may need to reschedule the lesson from a location with a stronger and more stable internet connection.
