Do I need to provide proof of my qualifications to apply to PMT Education?

Edited

Yes — we ask all applicants to provide proof of qualifications. This helps us ensure that every tutor on our platform is suitably qualified to deliver high-quality lessons.

What do I need to upload?

You’ll be prompted to upload relevant documents during the online application process.

At a minimum, we’ll need:

  • Proof of your highest qualification

  • Additional documentation if you’ve indicated relevant experience (e.g. as a teacher or examiner)

Do I need to add all my qualifications?

You don’t need to include every qualification:

  • If you’re a university student, we expect you to upload your A Level results at minimum

  • If you’re a graduate or qualified teacher, your degree and/or teaching credentials are more important

Lots of parents and students use qualifications to inform their choice of tutor, so it’s worth spending a bit of time uploading any extras that help showcase your subject knowledge and academic background.

How are my qualifications verified?

Your qualifications are selling points which will give parents and students confidence in your subject expertise.

When reviewing your application, we'll check and verify all submitted documents. Only verified qualifications appear on a tutor's public profile:

What are the tick badges on tutor profiles?

Tutor profiles display tick badges based on the qualifications and experience a tutor has provided:

  • Student tick – shown when a tutor has uploaded proof of current university enrolment

  • Graduate tick – shown when a tutor has uploaded a university degree certificate

  • Teacher tick – shown when a tutor is a qualified teacher

  • Examiner tick – shown when a tutor has provided proof of examiner status

  • SEND tick – shown when a tutor has training or experience supporting Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) students

These badges appear publicly and help students and parents quickly understand a tutor’s background and level of expertise.
