What is the DBS update service?

The DBS Update Service is a government provided service which keeps your enhanced DBS certificate up-to-date, without having to apply for a new one. It also allows parents, students and employers to check your record quickly and conveniently online, with your consent.

The service currently costs just £16 a year, and you have to subscribe to it within 30 days of the issue date of your certificate.

It's easy to let us know you're on the Update Service.

1. Go to your dropdown and click Account

2. Head to the DBS section.

3. Tick the box which says “I am subscribed to the DBS Update Service and give PMT Education permission to verify my DBS status through it."
