What is the DBS update service?

The DBS update service is a government provided service which keeps your enhanced DBS certificate up-to-date, without having to apply for a new one. It also allows parents and students to check your record quickly and conveniently online, with your consent.
The service costs just £13 a year, and you’ll have to apply for it within 28 days of receiving your DBS certificate.
You can let us know if you’re on the update service when you apply. Just tick the box which says “I am on the government’s update service and I am happy for PMT Education to check my DBS status using this service”.
