Can my students leave me reviews?

 Yep, they can – and it’s an integral part of our algorithm-operated ranking system.

After your first lesson with a new student, the billpayer and student will be invited to review you right away over an email. However, because we think it takes more than a single lesson to fairly gauge how good a tutor is, they can also leave you a second, final review at a later date.

We strongly recommend asking your clients for a review during a lesson or over a message, as this increases your chances of getting a review.

After the first lesson, billpayers or students (with full accounts) will be invited to give you their initial review. An orange Leave a review button will pop up in the classroom, and they’ll also be invited to review you via email. The Leave a review button will keep popping up in all future classrooms until your clients leave you a review.

If your clients haven’t left you a first review and you want to remind them, you can click the orange Request Review button in your classroom. This will send them an email asking for a review. You can only request a review once each lesson, so after you click this button, it will disappear from the classroom. Remember, you can also ask during a lesson or in a message.

After you’ve received your first review and you’ve had more lessons together, you can request a second, final review. You can request your final review at any time, but we recommend asking for it when the student has finished working with you.

To request your second review, you need to click Request Review in your classroom. Clients cannot leave you a second review until you click Request Review. This is so you can decide when the best time is for your final review, rather than your client potentially leaving you a second review too early.

When you click Request Review, this will send an email to the billpayer and the student, and their Leave a review button will reappear in all your future classrooms together.

Reviews will be posted on your profile for everyone to see and the rating will contribute to your ranking in search results. The more positive reviews you get, the higher your ranking will be.
