Do you have a Tutor Code of Conduct?

Edited

Yes, we do! Here at PMT, our mission is to support a positive and happy learning environment for tutors, parents, guardians and students. That’s why we created our Tutor Code of Conduct. This code provides a framework for professionalism and ethical conduct, ensuring the best educational experience for our community.

You can read our Tutor Code of Conduct below:

A tutor should:

  1. Be committed to helping students fulfil their potential.

  2. Promote a positive learning environment.

  3. Demonstrate faith in a student’s abilities and be encouraging and enthusiastic at all times.

  4. Give students full attention during a lesson.

  5. Show respect for students’ cultural backgrounds, dignity and values.

  6. Use respectful, appropriate language at all times.

  7. Attend all sessions punctually and be adequately prepared.

  8. Upload any relevant resources promptly after the lesson has finished.

  9. Be committed to academic integrity. If a tutor is approached by a student with a request to complete an assignment for them, they should report this to us.

  10. Be appropriately dressed.

  11. Make sure no personal photos or information are visible in their camera background.

  12. Make sure that, if sharing their whole screen, everything but the relevant tabs are hidden.

  13. Comply with all aspects of PMT Education’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.

  14. Share any concerns they have about students’ social, emotional and behavioural difficulties with parents/carers and PMT Education.

  15. Not attempt to record audio or video or take any screenshots or photographs during a tutoring session.

  16. Not give out contact details or social media handles/ profiles.

  17. Not disclose personal information.
