To make online lessons as productive as possible, it’s important that you and your tutor are able to communicate easily and efficiently. Using a microphone is the best way to do this, since the alternative is responding to your tutor by typing, which slows down the pace and flow of the lesson.
However, if it’s your first lesson and you’re really anxious, then message your tutor ahead of time explaining the situation. Our tutors are all nice people, so they should be very understanding.
