What are Opportunities?

Opportunities are requests made by clients who are searching for a great tutor like you. If you’re looking for more tutees, you can browse through all the available Opportunities and apply for as many as you like!

Here at PMT, we pride ourselves on getting to know each and every one of our tutors. That’s why for every Opportunity we list, our expert team hand-picks the tutors we think will be the best fit for the job. If we believe you’re a great match, we’ll let you know and pass on the contact details of the client. It’s as easy as that.

Head up to the Opportunities tab at the top of your dashboard to begin. 

Any Opportunities that you’re eligible for will appear in your New tab. Here, you’ll be able to read all the details of the request and apply, if you wish. You’ll also see an orange notification appear next to the Opportunities tab whenever there’s a new Opportunity for you.

Opportunities will include information such as the subject and level of tuition, exam board, their availability, the type of tutor a client is after, and any special requests they may have.

Just click the purple Apply button to apply for an Opportunity. Alternatively if you don’t like the look of an Opportunity, you can mark it as Not interested.

Then you just have to sit back and relax -  that’s the hard work done. If we think you’re the best fit for the job, we’ll let you know in your notifications and via email.

You can see the status of your applications in the Applied tabof Opportunities. If we’ve picked you as a match, you’ll see a green Matched badge next to the opportunity.

If we don’t think this Opportunity is the best fit for you, you’ll see a purple Not selected badge next to the opportunity. Don’t be disheartened if this is the case, there will be plenty more Opportunities available!

If you’re picked as a match, a new chat will start between you and your potential new client, so you can head to your Messages tab to get the conversation going straight away.

Some clients may book you on the spot, others may want to ask a few questions first, and others may not follow through with booking at all. There’s no obligation for our clients to book a tutor after their request has been fulfilled, so there isn’t a guarantee that you’ll be booked if you’re chosen for an Opportunity. However, we’re sure that you’ll wow your potential tutee, and they would be very keen to book a tutor like you!

We will only show you opportunities that you’re eligible for, so you won’t ever be spammed with Opportunities that you can’t apply for.

You’re eligible for an Opportunity if:

• Your availability coincides with the client’s chosen availability 

• You tutor the subject, level, and exam board that the client is interested in 

• You offer the type of tuition the client has asked for (online or in-person) 

• Your hourly rate falls within the client’s budget

It’s really important that you keep your availability up to date, otherwise you may not be shown Opportunities that you would otherwise be eligible for. Remember, in order to be eligible for an Opportunity, you must have some overlapping availability with the client.

The previous tab contains all of your archived Opportunities, as well as Opportunities you’ve missed out on applying for. You won’t be able to apply for closed Opportunities.
