What are the different ways I can message my tutor?

Edited

Billpayers can communicate with tutors in two ways: through a private chat or a group chat. You can navigate between these two chats under the 'Messages' tab:

Tutor chat (Billpayer only)

The private chat, marked with a Private tag, is a one-to-one conversation between the billpayer and the tutor. It’s a useful space for sharing information with your tutor such as questions about lessons, scheduling preferences or updates that don’t require the student’s involvement- only the billpayer and tutor can see these messages.

Group chat (Billpayer, student and tutor)

The group chat, marked with a Group tag, includes the billpayer, student, and tutor. This shared space is ideal for discussing lesson times, progress updates, resources, or any questions the student might have- helping everyone stay informed and on the same page.

If you ever have a concern about a tutor not responding to messages, see our FAQ.

Note: If the billpayer is also the student, there won’t be a group chat- only a private chat will be available. A group chat is only created when a billpayer has an attached student account, and it appears automatically once a lesson has been booked.
