What can I do if my payment fails while I’m booking a lesson?
Payments can fail for several reasons. It might be because your card is temporarily blocked, you haven’t updated your bank details with us, or you didn’t have enough money in your account during our authorisation check. Whatever the case, we’re here to help.
Booking with incorrect card details
If you use incorrect card details to book a lesson, the booking will not go through and you’ll be given a warning that your card details are incorrect. If this happens, double check your details are 100% correct and try again. If you’ve entered card details which you believe are correct, but the booking still won’t work, please get in touch.
Booking with insufficient funds
It’s extremely important to us that our tutors are fairly compensated for their time and expertise. Therefore, we carry out card authentication checks to ensure you can cover your lesson.
72 hours before your lesson, we carry out a card authentication check. If you don’t have the funds in your account to cover the lesson price, you will be asked via email to add funds to your account within the following 24 hour window. Our authorisation system will carry out a subsequent check 48 hours before a lesson. If you have added funds, the lesson will stay booked. If you still don’t have enough money in your account, the lesson will be automatically cancelled.
If you attempt to book a lesson within 48 hours, the authorisation check is carried out as you book. If you don’t have enough money in your account, the lesson request won’t go through. You will be notified this is due to insufficient funds.
What happens if I don’t have enough money to cover my lesson?
If you have passed our card authentication checks but the payment for the lesson has failed, we’ll temporarily freeze any of your future lessons until you’ve been able to settle your outstanding payment. Once again, if you’re having any problems, please get in touch.
I’ve booked using the wrong card details, can I change them?
You can change your card details up to 72 hours before the lesson is due to start. To find out how, please see our FAQ.
