How can I get more bookings?

Edited

There are lots of factors that affect how frequently a tutor receives bookings. If you want to get more bookings, there are a few things you can try:

  • Apply for Opportunities - Opportunities are requests by clients for a tutor. Any Opportunities you’re eligible for will show up in your Opportunities tab. We recommend applying to any Opportunities you’re eligible for, and messaging the client if you’re matched. You can find out more about Opportunities here

  • Spruce up your profile - Since it’s the first impression a parent or potential student has of you, you need to make your profile the best it can be. Use a professional photograph, make sure your Bio and Tutoring style are up to scratch, and don’t be afraid to show some personality!

  • Ask for reviews - If you have lots of glowing reviews, you’ll stand out to potential clients. Your tutees can leave you up to two reviews, so make sure to ask them!

  • Get an Enhanced DBS check: Enhanced DBS checks give parents and guardians the extra assurance that you’re a safe and trustworthy individual. If and when you choose to get one, we’ll update your profile with a DBS badge to let clients know you have one. You can find out more about getting an enhanced DBS check with us here.

  • Review your hourly rate: As well as affecting where our algorithm ranks you, your hourly rate can attract bookings.  While we certainly don’t recommend undercutting every other tutor and working for peanuts (being perceived as too cheap can also be a negative), we do advise that you make your hourly rate somewhat competitive. You can get a feel for what other tutors like you charge by searching for those with similar qualifications and skills, or view our guide here.
